New pretty

My new chandelier is up and

I couldn't be happier with

the way it turned out.

a new light

 For 19 years now, we have had this

ugly, drop down, plastic panel,

florescent lighted ceiling.
A lot of the homes in this area
have it.

I don't know who ever

thought this lighting option was

attractive...??  I have been wanting to

change it for years... but something is

always more important, and I kind of

forget about it. (believe it or not....)

 Well.... not anymore. 

I asked my brother Mike to help me. 
It was a bit more complicated than
I could handle on my own. 

We removed the plastic and florescent

lights, patched the extra holes,

and framed it out. I just have

to paint it and put up a new

light fixture.

I am soooo excited!

I have been looking for an affordable,

chandelier. I wanted something a bit

whimsical, but not too girly.

I ordered this one online.

Can't wait to see how it looks!

Smoothie

 We have been on a bit of a

smoothie kick around here. Super easy

to make - just yogurt, frozen fruits,

honey, a bit of orange juice,

then whirl it up.

I pour them into my Kerr jars, then cap 

and pop in the freezer.  Taylor and Chloe

love them - easy, good for you

breakfast,

(which they never make time for)

They can be enjoyed frozen, or wait a

bit for them to thaw.

Fruit Smoothie

(portions are approx.)

1/2 lrg. container of Vanilla yogurt

(I like Mountain High, low fat Vanilla)

3 cups frozen berries,

blueberries, raspberries, mango, or

whatever you like...

1 banana (optional)

1/2 cup orange or any fruit juice

2 Tbls. or so of honey, depending on

how sweet you like.

Blend together.

Drink right away or freeze.



mothers day picnic

After breakfast on Mother's day, Logan, dad, and I, headed just north of Payson for a picnic.

Taylor and Chloe had to work.

      Logan tried to catch some fish
         in the creek - no luck...

Lunch - yum!

   we spotted a fuzzy catapillar - Logan was excited,

he is learing about them right now in school.

              I  picked some pretty wildflowers

On the way home, we saw a wildfire that

is burning in Sunflower - so hard to see...

It's fire season here is AZ.

Hope they get it out soon.

For the love of cooking

I have a new obsession....

A few months ago, probably 6 now,

we stopped paying for cable tv,

we only get local channels, only

10 channels to be exact.

Most of the time I don't mind, even

like it - Logan does not watch mindless

cartoons and we spend more time

doing other things - playing games,

drawing, etc.
I no longer even care what the
Kardashian's are doing.

What I do miss - and I mean

r e a l l y  m i s s,

are my cooking shows...sniff, sniff.

Happy hour

A little dos de mayo

Sangria

~

One bottle of white wine

One bottle of red wine

1 cup orange juice

1 cup peach juice

1 cup simple syrup

sliced strawberries

sliced orange

sliced strawberries

Mix all together and let sit

for a bit to allow flavors

to mingle.

Enjoy over ice with a

splash of

sparkling Pellegrino
