Love is in the air

Rehearsal dinner at our house
for Mom & Jack.
Made this cute sign for the front door.

Mexican food for dinner, with
Mexican wedding cookies
for dessert.

cold lemonade and sangria

We borrowed the table and these cute
vintage chairs from friends.

Darryl stung lights and I made
the white dollie banners
to hang over head.

It was a really magical after dark.

Mmmmm...
Chicken Enchiladas with
Tomato Corn Salsa
It was delish!

The weather - perfect,
the food - delicious,
the ambiance - fabulous,
the company - the best!
Thanks Kim for your help
in making the evening perfect!

cookies and lemonade

Logan had a lemonade stand yesterday.
Terrible photo, but it was the only one
I snapped - every time I thought to take
one, someone would come by.
Who could resist....?
I tried a new
chocolate chip cookie recipe. More
of a flaky, short bread texture, and
they stand up instead of spreading out.
Quite good, I must say!

Chocolate Chip cookies
2 sticks butter
1 C. veg. oil
1 egg
1 C. white sugar
1 C. brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cream of tarter
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 C. flour
(1) 12 oz. bag chocolate chips
(I used milk chocolate)
1 T. milk
~
Cream butter and sugars, add egg and cream
till light and fluffy. add the rest of the wet,
ingredients and then dry, mix well,
add chips. Scoop onto a cookie
sheet.
Bake at 350 for 9-11 min.
Recipe makes 4-5 dozen.

doodie

I had jury duty on Mon. - ugh.
Downtown Phoenix location - had to leave
the house at 7:00 am. I am sure I spent
more than the $12.00 a day that they
pay you, on gas alone just to get there.
The only highlight of that experience
was lunch at Pane Bianco - yum!
(I had an hour and a half to kill,
who could blame me....?)
Had the Tomato mozzarella sandwich
yum, yum!

Garden patch

We planted our little garden on Sunday.
Three kinds of tomato, yellow pear,
Mr. Stripey (our favorite) and a
better boy red tomato. Several kinds
of peppers, red, green, jalapeno,
and hot red chili - great for stir fry.
Two zucchini plants, some mixed salad
greens, italian parsley, basil,
dill, and chives.

Later, mom, mike & debbie joined us for
dinner. On the menu:
tomato mozzarella salad
shrimp scampi from Costo, over linguini
fresh steamed green beans
and french bread.

We ate outside on the patio,
the weather was perfect!
