We recently came across a box of Darryl's

Grandma Rosie's things. Inside the box was

an old cook book filled with handwritten recipes.

I grabbed it right away and started scouring

through it. How exciting I thought, maybe

I will find an old family favorite recipe!

Such was not the case...mostly dessert recipes

for fruit breads and jello molds.

I found this recipe especially funny.

Can you imagine eating this....oh boy!

Bless her heart, she was never

much of a cook. I will still treasure

them all - as I do her wonderful memory.

Snow day

The kids had Monday off from school, so

Darryl took them up north of Payson,

for a day of fun in the snow.

Lots of sledding and snow ball fights.

Chicken soup and Ritz crackers for lunch

It was a great day.

Dinner last night

Chinese Chicken Salad

No exact measurements...everything

just chopped into small bites.

Romain lettuce, red cabbage, cucumbers

red bell pepper, fresh cilantro, fresh mint,

shredded carrot, chopped scallions,

chopped peanuts, chow mein noodles, and

Girards - Chinese Chicken Salad Dressing.

Oh, almost forgot - shredded roasted chicken.
