Thanksgiving 2010

Where does the time go..?
I am a bit behind in
posting pictures of our Thanksgiving.
*
Beautiful sunflowers for the entryway.
*
Cheese tray before dinner - delish!
* Croquette in the backyard.

Pumpkin centerpieces for the tables.

The girls and Grandma make rolls.

The kids table.

Had a great holiday with the family.
The time went way to fast, but enjoyed
every minute!

Fall weather

Fall seems to finally be here.
D and I enjoyed the beautiful weather
this morning by taking a hike at South Mountain.
It was a nice morning, but the day went
entirely too quickly - too much to do and
not enough time.
I plan on making a fall salad
with the above butternut squash
and pomegranate - will post
the recipe later. Looking forward
to next week when Kim and the family
come for Thanksgiving - can't wait!

I put together a gift box for him,

filled with a few of his favorite things
Whiskey...
8
Black licorice Scottie dogs...
and some cigars.

I think it turned out really cute.
Hope he likes it...
Happy Birthday Scott!

Love this photo of Taylor, Chloe and I
on the beach.
I miss the old days when all we did was
play on the beach all day.
mmmm so nice....

Appreciative

Baked up a batch of brownies last night for
my brother and dropped them off at his
house today, along with a bottle of red wine.
He has been so helpful these
past few weeks. Not that he isn't always
that way, he is always extremely giving
with his time and talents. I feel especially
appreciative & grateful for all his help.

Thanks Mike!

Empty Bowls

Taylor's pottery class participated in
an annual charity event called "Empty Bowls".
Over 3000 bowls were created by local schools
and artisans, and for $10.00 you could purchase
one of these beautiful, handcrafted bowls, filled
with soup. All proceeds went to Paz de Cristo,
a local outreach center that helps feed the
homeless and working poor.
It was an amazing event and we will
be sure to attend every year. We bought one for
each of us and we just love them.

Halloween tricks & treats

Halloween was fun as always.
*

Logan and Chloe carved pumpkins.

A little snack prior to trick or treating.*
*

The Cool Ghoul and Robin (Chloe made
her costume - very cute and creative.)
Go Chloe!
*
Who are these crazy people...?

We ended the evening with delicious chili
and corn bread. Kind of quiet in our hood,
not too many trick or treaters - oh well,
more candy for us.
(I am enjoying a kit kat right now... okay maybe
2 kit kats and an almond joy.., but who's counting)
