After school

 Mixed up a batch of
Monster Cookies
for an after the
1st day of school snack
 such colorful dough
 YUM!

Overall I think it was a
great first day of school.

MONSTER COOKIES
1 1/2 cups creamy or chunky peanut butter
(I used chunky)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
8 T. unsalted butter (1 stick), softened
3 lrg. eggs
1 T. vanilla
4 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup M&M's
 ~
Preheat oven to 350.  Line cookie sheets
with parchment,or nonstick spray.
In a large bowl, or mixer, combine peanut butter
sugars and butter. Mix well. Add eggs and vanilla.
Mix together the oats and baking soda, then
add to peanut butter mixture.
Stir in M&M's and choc. chips.
Drop the cookies by heaping spoonfuls onto
your cookie sheets.
Bake 10-12 min. Do not overbake.
Cool for 5 min. on cookie sheets until
cookies are set. Transfer to wire racks to
cool completely.
Then.....
enjoy like a COOKIE MONSTER!

for to watch you grow.
We sure appreciate all that you do.

Recipe to try

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole
This recipe looks and sounds
delicious.
I think the family would love it.
(Who am I kidding, me too.)
Found the recipe here
I think I will add cooked pasta
noodles to it as well.
(I did and would recommend it. I added about
2 cups, cooked small noodle pasta)
~
*Note: this was really good - will definitely
make it again, and again...
Everyone enjoyed it.!

More from the lake...

 Jetski rides through the canyons
Cliff jumping - my least favorite thing,
but of course, the kids favorite.
We did a lot of relaxing in this big raft.
 in typical Poturalski fashion,
the raft almost floated away.
 Luke enjoyed fishing for catfish,
He's just like Grandpa Dave.
I think he caught 6!
More jumping off the boat - yahoo!
Lots of floating in rafts and drinking
our fine boxed wine - a sign of the times.
 more jumping.... I told you...
a favorite activity. (it is fun!)
Almost every afternoon,
a rain storm rolled in,
and we got some nice cooling rain.
This day, a rainbow appeared and
landed right in the middle of the Lake.
What luck I say.
Now we know what is at the end
of a rainbow..... sorry,
no pot of gold....just a bunch
of crazy pot-uralski's!

Lake Powell - part two

 Our second day:
 Brian, Heidi,
and family planned a fun
"Survivor" theme day.
 We divided into two tribes,
painted our faces and chose tribe names.
 the "hot heads"
and "the pescados"
 Don't we look intimidating?
 the idle
we played crazy, fun games
and had tons of laughs.
Good times were had by all.
