Great cocktail idea from
the Pottery Barn fall catalog.
Beautiful presentation.

Pear Coolers
Pears steeped in Vodka
Pear Brandy
Sprig of Rosemary
Soda

Might make a nice cocktail while
preparing Thanksgiving dinner.
Right Kim??

The day off

I am enjoying the day off today.
Plan on making a big pot of chicken stock
and running a few errands.
The weather is cooler today, high of
about 85 with a chance of rain - nice!

Delicious!

Mmmmm!
Doesn't this look good?
Not my picture, but plan to make
this soon. I picked up a truffle brownie
mix and some fleur de sel carmel
sauce from Trader Joe's today.
I am sure the family will love it!

Thunder boomer!

We had one heck of a storm today.
It rained the hardest I have ever seen,
with hurricane like winds, thunder, lightning
and even some hail - it was crazy!
Quite awesome to watch though and now it is
clear and cool out - yippee!

Crafting with Chloe

Saturday craft project
with Chloe.
Fabric pumpkins - with twigs cut from the
neighbors tree.(which by the way, always needs to be
trimmed so we can even walk by on the sidewalk.
So really I was doing them a favor..)
It was really quite easy,
I do not sew, but was able to make these
no problem. Just cut circles of fabric, ran
a running stitch around the edge of the circle,
then, filled with pinto beans, cinched it
up and sewed closed. Then simply
hot glued on the stems.
We think they turned out really cute!

Welcome October!

I am sooo happy that October is here.
For us here in Arizona, it means that the
cooler weather is almost here! I couldn't
be more ready. Not only for the cool weather,
but also for the change in menu - soups,
chili, pumpkin bread, and so on...

This recipe is from Sweet Paul - looks
and sounds delish! Will be trying this
one soon. Today, Chloe and I are having
a little craft day.
(more to come on that idea...)
